“The frontline of Restorative Justice in the US is Colorado, and the frontline of Restorative Justice in Colorado is Longmont.”
Dr. Jeffrey London, Criminology, Metropolitan State University of Denver
When you donate to LCJP, you support a new approach to justice in which all members of the community have a voice.
Making gifts of appreciated securities is beneficial for all parties, because the gift amount and deduction are the fair market value of the stock and there is no capital gains tax.
Donors can make a tax-free gift directly from their IRA. IRA gift distributions are excluded from taxable income and qualify for the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) each year. To benefit from the IRA rollover legislation, a donor needs to:
- Be age 70 1/2 or older
- Give any amount up to $100.000 from their IRA
- Transfer funds directly from a traditional or rollover IRA
For over 20 years, Longmont Community Justice Partnership (LCJP) has been cultivating a safe and caring community by providing restorative justice processes for youth and adults. LCJP partners with the Longmont Police Department, St. Vrain Valley School District, and broader Longmont community to facilitate group dialogue after crime or conflict occurs. This process encourages offender accountability and provides a safe space for impacted parties to speak about how they have been harmed, and how an offender may repair that harm. Offenders who successfully complete their commitments to make things right will not receive a criminal conviction for that incident. This prevents more individuals from entering the criminal justice system, and is proven to reduce recidivism.
