For students and school personnel who want to facilitate restorative justice circle processes.
This is a two-day training that introduces the restorative principles and teaches facilitators how to conduct two kinds of restorative processes: Connection Circles (building connections among staff and students to provide support in navigating school challenges) and Solution Circles (circles that are adaptable for solving a problem and enhancing school success). Together, these restorative circles engage students in powerful processes that can lead to repair of harm, student learning and community building.
We recommend that participants volunteer with a restorative justice program subsequent to this training to get on-going support and circle facilitation experience.
Training Content Includes:
· Restorative Justice Principles
· Pre-Circle Meeting Strategies
· Victim Awareness
· Circle Facilitation
· Writing Agreements
· Various Circle Applications
Experiential Training Emphasizes:
· Role Plays
· Small Group Interactions
· Question & Answer Sessions
· Facilitation Coaching
